Champagne Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne established in the tiny Grand Cru village of Aÿ, 5 kilometres to the north of Epernay, in 1584. In 2009, the year of Gosset’s 425th anniversary, the House completed the acquisition of substantial premises in Epernay, in the heart of Champagne. Domaine Gosset, the former mansion of the Trouillard family, is a historic building dating back to the 19th Century with 5km of cellars up to 30 metres in depth allowing Gosset to store up to 2 million bottles in the chalky cellars. Whereas previously production had been spread over 5 sites, it is now concentrated on the two Gosset owned premises in Aÿ and Epernay.
Celebris Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut is a blend of eleven premier & grand cru villages from the vintages 1995, 1996, 1998 and 1999 with a dosage of 3.5g/l.
Colour & Appearance: Golden yellow in colour with delicate green tints.
Nose: A pure and expressive nose evoking a bouquet of spring flowers (acacia, daffodils, camomile, iris, hyacinth and lemon balm). Warm and sensous, with flavours of dried fruits (hazelnut, almond) and honey.
Palate: Full, concentrated and voluptuous, with remarkably structured flavours, this is a rich and creamy Champagne, showing marvellous balance of succulence and lively acidity. A rich array of fruit flavours - candied pineapple and orange, with dried apricot and fig flavours – blend in with smooth, honeyed and delicately spicy aromas. The finish is long and persistent, reinforced by good acidity, hints of toast and sweet preserved citrus fruit.
