Julia left Manchester Metropolitan University with a BA Hons in Humanities (a tin pot degree according to her father). Needing a job quickly to start paying off her bar bill, she worked for the local wine merchant before joining Wine Rack and ended up store manager in Harrogate. She worked for Matthew Clarke for 7 years covering South Yorkshire before joining McKinley Vintners in 2008. She is responsible for independent wine merchants, wholesalers and the odd restaurant account throughout the North of England and Scotland and drives about 30,000 miles a year trying to keep everyone happy. Outside work, her life still revolves around wine and she enjoys nothing more than sitting down to a fabulous dinner with perfect wines to match. Although watching a droned out psychedelic band in the dirty rock club somewhere comes close. Just don’t get her started on her vinyl collection....
