Nick’s career in the wine trade began in 1967 at Fortnum and Mason. He initially worked in the cellars before moving up to the shop floor, mixing with the rich and famous! He then worked for some of the UK’s most prestigious wine merchants including Saccone and Speed, Hatch Mansfield, and Maisons Marques & Domaines before joining McKinley Vintners in 1999. Nick specialises in the London On-Trade and throughout his career has worked with some amazing hotel/restaurant characters, some incredible wine trade colleagues, tasted some supreme wines and had the odd decent plate of food. Nick is married to Jill with two musician sons, Alex and James. They all love travelling and world music. He likes any excuse to watch rugby (some might say he is slightly obsessed by it) and, when not shouting at the TV, can be found trying to hit a golf ball in a straight line!
