| A treasure-trove of goodies from the Coeur de Lion estate in the Auge region, these are traditionally made, un-filtered, using sweet, ripe fruit from the estate orchards. Pommeau is Normandy's answer to Pineau des Charentes - a lovely sweet pure-apple aperitif and pudding wine. New this year to the hoard is the 'Blanche de Normandie' eau de vie, a must for all bar lists, as it can be served neat on the rocks, as a base for cocktails, and even as a refreshing after-dinner drink. The delicious cider comes in smart stoppered bottles, while the Perry, with its refreshing sparkle, is a deliciously unusual choice of apertif. |
