This domaine has been in the hands of the Lignier family for many generations and covers 15 hectares and 8 appellations. They are lucky enough to own vineyards in some of Burgundy’s finest locations including the Grand Crus of Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint Denis, Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes-Mares and the Premiere Crus of Moey Saint Denis, Clos des Ormes and Gevry Chambertain Les Combottes.
Georges Lignier is a winemaker with over 30 years experience and makes a magnificent range of powerful yet elegant and feminine, well structured Burgundies that reflect their terrior. Since the 2003 vintage, Georges has been working with his nephew Benoit Lignier. Benoit is an excellent young winemaker and has added his own touch to the domaines wines. Bases on what we have tasted so far w e expect great things for the future. |
