Located in the Southern Rhone Valley, in the Gard department, Domaine Clavel encompasses 80 hectares of vineyards across 3 appellations: Cotes du Rhone, Cotes du Rhone VIllages, Saint-Gervais and Chusclan, Vin de Pays d'Oc and du Gard. The vineyards are established on chalky-clayey hillsides with a south-facing exposure, some vines are over one hundred years old and yield grapes of oustanding quality enabling the team at Clavel to produce wines with great finesse.
The owners, Francoise and Denis Clavel, are very environmentally aware and their viticultural practices reflect their commitment to protecting nature, as well as producing fantastic wines. Their philosophy combines a know-how accumulated over several generations, a real passion for wine, and a constant pursuit of quality and excellence.
Packaged with eye catching labels, the wines have great shelf presence. The Vega Merlot is a fantastic Vins de Pays wine showing great fruit character while the 'LE' Domaine Clavel Blanc is a superb 50% Viognier and 50% Roussane blend. |
