Domaine Jean-Claude Belland is a family-owned property run by father Adrien and son Jean-Claude. Attention to detail, decades of experience and an attitude that combines tradition with a determination to evolve is seeing this domaine power up to the front of the field. The finest qualities of the individual appellations are allowed to shine through in these hand-crafted wines – supple, ruby-coloured Santenays and racy, richly complex Cortons.

Belland owns 12 important parcels of vineyard in the Côtes de Nuits and Côtes de Beaune. The fruit is carefully selected and brought to the recently purchased property in the centre of the village of Santenay. Here they are vinified separately in concrete or stainless steel, and given little fining or filtration. Reds are aged in 25% medium-toast oak casks, the white in 50%, in the magnificent cellars that lie beneath the house.
